LIFE PROGRAM ( Living In Family Environment Program) The LIFE Program is a service that functions in Elk and Cameron County Elementary and Middle Schools supporting students in Preschool through 8th grade.

The LIFE Program is a preventative school based program that provides goal-oriented services to at-risk students and their families for a four month period. At-risk students are those students experiencing behavioral, emotional and/or academic concerns. Referrals for this program can be made through the Instructional Support Team, Guidance Department, Principal or teachers within your school. Referrals can also be made directly by a parent.
The LIFE Caseworkers provide: * Classroom intervention * Direct sessions with students *Parent Education *Collaboration with school staff * Groups (i.e. Anger Management, Peer Relationship, Study Skills, Divorce and Separation and Bereavement)
The LIFE Program is funded through our Cameron/Elk-Mental Health/Mental Retardation, and contributions by participating school districts, thereby allowing this to be a free service to the families we support.
