Currently, Dickinson Mental Health Center in Elk county operates six (6) group homes. Four homes serve adults with a diagnosis of mental retardation. There are nineteen adults receiving services. A fifth home is classified as a Ruth L. home. The three women that reside in this home are considered to have both mental retardation and mental health. Our fifth home services seven adult males with mental health issues.

Our top priority is to improve the quality of life of those residing in our homes as well as ensuring the safety, welfare and health of the individuals. Each person is given numerous opportunities to participate in community activities, make choices in daily lives and schedules, develop and maintain relationships outside their homes, as well as the opportunity to grow. The homes provide 24 hour supervision and training and support in various areas addressing all the needs of the individuals.

Our sixth home is a mental health home designed to assist men in their re-entry into community living. Individuals participate in Partial Hospitalization or other programs along with community activities.
