Forensic Services

Forensic Services is a multifaceted, grant-supported program that provides mental health services to clients that become involved in the criminal justice system in Elk and Cameron Counties.

Services to the Court

The Forensic program provides comprehensive mental health assessments to the Court designed to ensure that treatment needs are considered for sentencing purposes. These assessments also help divert clients into needed treatment rather than incarceration thus saving county dollars through the provision of professional services. The Forensic program also works closely with the Elk and Cameron County Probation departments to provide targeted treatment to identified individuals designed to promote mental health and thereby reduce recidivism.

Prison-Based Services

The Forensic program provides psychiatric treatment and counseling for inmates in the Elk County Prison who have mental health issues. Prison services also include the provision of lethality assessments designed to assist in safe and secure prison management.

Outreach Services

The Forensic program also provides intensive, home-based services to individuals transitioning from a restricted environment back into the home and community. This program provides intensive therapy, Resource Coordination and psychiatric support to help ensure adequate treatment as well as a smooth transition back into society. The Outreach program accepts referrals from the Elk and Cameron County departments as well as the State Board of Probation and Parole.
